Final Fantasy 16: Map has already been stitched together
A devoted Final Fantasy 16 enthusiast has meticulously pieced together the game’s map using existing footage and insights from developer interviews.
Drawing from the official Final Fantasy 16 website, the recent State of Play gameplay presentation, and the PAX East 2023 panel, the fan has assembled a comprehensive in-game map of Valisthea, the world of Final Fantasy 16. The fan-made creation, viewable below, is divided into distinct regions since Final Fantasy 16 is not a fully open-world game.

We are already aware of four primary explorable map areas in Final Fantasy 16, which form the core of Valisthea’s overarching map. The fan speculates that these areas are Rosaria, Sanbreque, Dhalmekia, and Waloed, but there are also smaller regions, such as the formidable Crystalline Dominion and the Fallen Northern Territories, the homeland of Clive’s companion Jill.
It remains unconfirmed whether these smaller regions will be playable, so the fan-made map may include areas that players won’t actually visit. Nevertheless, the Final Fantasy 16 map appears expansive in both size and scope, even if only the four main areas are included in the final game.
Many fans in the Reddit post’s comments section predict that players will explore these areas and that the entire map will undergo changes throughout the game. Given that an approaching blight is a significant plot point in Final Fantasy 16, it is possible that parts of the map will be devastated as Clive’s story unfolds.
Final Fantasy 16 is set to release on June 22 as a PS5 exclusive, and Square Enix recently revealed that the game has gone gold well ahead of its launch. The gameplay presentation earlier this month was a hit with fans, and since then, Final Fantasy 16 has been rapidly climbing sales charts.
I don’t have a horse in this race… but clearly this hooded figure can vanish into thin air and teleport around.. so I don’t think we should be looking into any of this realistically. It’s all fantasy.
