Final Fantasy 16: Another rating as likely release date reveal
Final Fantasy 16 Gets Another Rating as Release Date Announcement Rumors Grow.
Gematsu has reported that Final Fantasy 16 received a rating in Brazil, marking the action-RPG’s second rating this month. Earlier in November, a Square Enix newsletter revealed that Final Fantasy 16 would have a provisional rating of 18+. The Brazilian rating, however, recommends a 16+ rating for the game, which is lower than the European rating.

This news comes after several recent interviews with game producer Naoki Yoshida and director Hiroshi Takai. Takai mentioned that Final Fantasy 16 is about 95% complete and that a demo is being developed. Yoshida also hinted that a release date announcement might come before the end of the year.
For those keeping an eye on upcoming gaming events, The Game Awards is scheduled for next week on Thursday, December 8, in Los Angeles. As the last significant gaming event of 2022, it could be an ideal platform for revealing Final Fantasy 16’s release date.
Earlier this month, Insider Gaming (opens in new tab) claimed that pre-orders for Final Fantasy 16 would begin in December, either on the 7th or 8th. If this information is accurate, pre-orders might coincide with a release date announcement at The Game Awards. Considering Yoshida’s previous statements, there is reason to believe that an announcement could be on the horizon.
